Junaid Bajwa
Junaid Bajwa is currently a GP Registrar in Greenwich, South East London. He qualified from Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2004, and subsequently obtained his MRCS in 2007. He is now working towards his MRCGP, and developing a special interest in ENT. He writes and reviews for InnovAiT, and has developed a number of courses aimed at GP trainees through the ‘Essential Guides’ group.
Cathryn Bateman
Cathryn Bateman started working in inner city general practice in 1990 and has been a practice manager since 1996. She currently works in a university health practice in the West Midlands and has previously been involved in an advisory capacity with her local primary care organisation. Cathryn has completed an MA in education and professional development and has a particular interest in employment law. She is also an NVQ assessor.
Renos Pittarides
Renos Pittarides is a non-medical partner in a six doctor training practice in west London. He has been in practice management since 1990. He is also senior lecturer in practice management at the University of Westminster where he runs a successful Certificate and Diploma in practice management. He has his own practice management consultancy offering services to PCTs and individual practices on a range of general practice management issues. Over the years he has written numerous articles for the GP press and he is on the editorial board of Practice Management. Renos has a keen interest in quality in general practice and has helped his own practice achieve accreditation to ISO 9000:2000. More recently he helped develop the Patient Friendly Accreditation Scheme for the Preparing Professionals for Partnership with the Public Programme.
Chantal Simon
Chantal Simon completed her medical training in Cambridge and Oxford, and moved south to join the vocational training scheme based in Southampton. She finished her GP training and passed her MRCGP in 1994 and has worked ever since on the south coast. She is currently working in a PMS practice in Christchurch, Dorset. She is also an MRC Health Service Research Fellow based at the Department of Primary Medical Care at Southampton University and lead author of the Oxford Handbook of General Practice.
